Hotel Experts Presented Its Tourism Development Concept for Shumen, Veliki Preslav, and Kaspichan

The team of Hotel Experts presented its project in Shumen – “Concept and Plan for Tourism Development in the Municipalities of Shumen, Veliki Preslav, and Kaspichan.”

The plan emphasizes digitalization, a proactive marketing approach, and comprehensive measures with short- and medium-term timelines. It also positions the village of Marash as a destination for medical, wellness, and SPA tourism. This strategy aims to unite the municipalities of Shumen, Veliki Preslav, and Kaspichan in collaborative efforts based on the proposed concept for tourism development, presented by Ivaylo Kozhuharov, Lachezar Lazarov, and Plamena Bobeva, which was introduced to local authorities, tourism industry representatives, administrative experts, and municipal councilors from the three municipalities.

This concept, developed under a contract with the Municipality of Shumen, seeks to establish the region’s image as an attractive tourist destination, attract new investments, and stimulate economic growth by increasing tourist traffic and tourism revenue.

Key Highlights of the Concept:

Digitalization and Innovation

  • Development of an artificial intelligence platform to consolidate all tourism resources and attractions in one place, offering bundled sales of tourist services.
  • 3D visualization and digital “revitalization” of historical sites to attract new visitors.

Medical, Wellness, and SPA Tourism in Marash

  • Plans include the creation of a modern resort center based on the mineral springs in the village of Marash.
  • The concept envisions thematic hotels, parks, pet-friendly facilities, and areas promoting sustainable living.

Joint Tourism Initiatives with Veliko Tarnovo

  • Cooperation with Veliko Tarnovo Municipality is planned to connect the region via the “Route of the Old Capitals.”
  • The proposal includes joint tourism packages and marketing activities targeting Romanian tourist flows.

MICE Tourism

  • Expansion of infrastructure for hosting international events.
  • Organization of cultural events and festivals tied to key historical dates, such as the beginning of statehood and the nation’s spiritual and educational development.

The creation of this concept and plan for tourism development in Shumen, Veliki Preslav, and Kaspichan is only the foundation for transforming the region into a modern and sought-after tourist destination. Success is achievable through persistent and consistent implementation of the outlined recommendations. The execution of the proposed short- and medium-term measures and initiatives will lead to significant progress in tourism development. If the concept is fully implemented, it will fundamentally reshape the region’s image in the long term, following an integrated and sustainable model.
