What is Planet Positive Event?
Planet Positive Event is a web-based sustainability assessment tool created from over sixteen years of practical experience in organizing Conventa, one of the region’s longest-running B2B MICE trade shows. Its purpose is to address key challenges in sustainable event management, such as disorganized reporting standards, imprecise carbon footprint calculators, and the lack of external assessments.
The platform is built on the CONVENTA 7R model: Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse, Recreate, and Regenerate. It aims to simplify the process of measuring, analyzing, and reporting the environmental impact of events, ensuring alignment with the latest European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

- External Review: An independent expert assessor reviews the data, confirming the results or requesting additional details.

- Analyze: 16 evaluation matrices with 94 mandatory and 241 recommended criteria, plus an SDG matrix for ESG effects.
- Measure: Tools for calculating carbon footprints with nine specific forms and one unified calculator.
- Report: Automatically generated, visually engaging reports with sustainability ratings.
- Standardize: Guidelines for subcontractors, covering venues, catering, and multimedia providers.
Why Is It Important?
Sustainability is no longer optional. With the European Commission’s adoption of the ESRS standards in 2023, sustainability reporting has become a regulatory requirement for thousands of companies across the EU. By 2026, all EU companies trading on the stock market, including mid-sized and smaller enterprises, will be required to comply.
